Our Environmental Policy
At Great Lake Life we believe it is possible to live and play outdoors while leaving these ecosystems better than we found them. The actions we are taking to minimize our environmental impact are outlined below. We want you to feel good about your purchase and know that while you're celebrating your Great Lake Life, you are also participating in protecting the lakes you love.

We will update this page as we continue to improve our business practices!
Give-back Policy
At this time we have committed to donating $1 from every purchase to organizations working to clean up and protect the Great Lakes.
Carbon Emissions
One of the reasons we chose to host our store through Etsy is their commitment to offsetting carbon emissions. Etsy has committed to using 100% renewable electricity to power the data centres that host the Etsy website and apps, as well as global offices and home offices in the U.S.

Furthermore, Etsy has committed to offsetting the carbon emissions associated with the delivery and packaging for every order made through their website. This means that the emissions used to move products from our house to your house have been accounted for.

We have made a commitment to offset the carbon emissions that are produced in getting the raw materials to our house. Stay tuned for more details on this, we are just ironing out how we'll do it!

Product Materials
Finding truly eco-friendly materials can be a challenge. We've done our best to offer products with a lower environmental impact.

Plant-based stickers: bioplastic stickers are not widely used in North America yet, but Europe is moving ahead with these technologies. We've sourced these stickers from a UK company (and offset the emissions to get them to the Great Lakes) that uses 100% compostable plant-based material.

When possible we have selected eco-friendly materials for our apparel. For example, our baseball caps are made from 100% organic cotton and our unisex t-shirts are made entirely from recycled fabrics.
